Perilog for Android

Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 1, 2026

Perilog ("the app", "we", "our") is a perimenopause symptom tracker developed by an individual developer. This policy explains what data the Android version of Perilog collects, why, and how it is handled.

The short version: your health and journal data stays on your phone — or, if you use Android's own backup, in your own Google account. Perilog has no server, no backend and no account system. There is nothing for us to see, store, sell or lose, because we never receive it.

What we collect

Symptom, cycle and journal data — not collected by us

Everything you log in Perilog — hot flashes, night sweats, sleep, mood, energy, brain fog, period days, custom symptoms and notes — is stored only on your device, in a local database. It is never sent to us or to any server we operate. We have no access to it, no copy of it, and no way to recover it for you.

Android backup — your data, your Google account, never ours

Perilog takes part in Android's standard app backup. If backup is turned on in your phone's settings, Android may include Perilog's local database and settings in the backup it stores in your Google account, so your log can be restored when you set up a new phone. This backup is created and managed by Android and Google, not by us; on Android 9 and later it is end-to-end encrypted with your screen lock. We, the developer, cannot access it. You can turn backup off at any time in your phone's settings (Settings → Google → Backup); Perilog keeps working exactly the same, storing data on the device only.

Purchases — handled by Google Play, not by us

Perilog Pro is a one-time, lifetime in-app purchase. There are no subscriptions. The purchase is handled entirely by Google Play under Google's own terms; we never see your name, email address or payment details. To know whether Pro should be unlocked, the app asks Google Play on your phone whether your Google account owns Perilog Pro. That check happens between your phone and Google Play — no purchase data is sent to us or to any other company.

What we do not collect

Your health data is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with anyone — we never have it.

Reminders and notifications

The optional daily reminder is scheduled entirely on your device using Android's alarm and notification system. No push-notification server is involved, and nothing about your reminders leaves your phone. On Android 13 and later, Perilog asks for notification permission only when you turn the reminder on. The notification text never contains any of your health details.

Exporting your data

Perilog can create a PDF summary or a CSV file of your log so you can share it with a healthcare provider. The file is created on your device and shared only through Android's standard share sheet, to whichever app or person you choose. We never receive a copy.

Storage, retention and deletion

Your journal data stays on your device for as long as the app is installed. Because there is no server copy:

Permissions

Third parties

Perilog contains no third-party SDKs — no analytics, advertising or purchase-tracking libraries.

Your rights (GDPR)

Because your journal data lives only on your device, most of these rights are already directly in your hands:

Records of your Google Play purchases are held by Google; you can review them in your Google account (Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & history).

Your rights (CCPA)

We do not sell or share your personal information, and never have.

Children's privacy

Perilog is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13.

Medical disclaimer

Perilog is a personal symptom journal, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat or predict any condition.

Changes to this policy

If our data practices change — for example, if we ever add a crash-reporting tool — we will update this page and the effective date above before the change ships.
